I've installed Ja submit and have an odd formatting problem.  :-\ The buttons to Save and Close are using a graphic from my default toolbar as a background image. I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to remove it. I've checked the php files, but if I remove the code involved the whole thing crashes (as you'd expect!). Is there an easy way to turn this image off? It's part of the default template so I can't just delete it or change it's name...

Other than that, it's a fantastic add on  :D

Thanks in advance.

John

Hello - big weird problem(s) with this.  If I use the admin page to configure JASubmit and save it - the JASubmit function does NOT work anymore...it only links to a big white blank page.  I can't fix it, but rather have to unistall and reinstall the works.  I've managed to configure it manually (a pain) but it works.  Is there a fix for this?  Anyone else having a similar problem?  Also, it seems the text area to add content is way too big and I can't seem to figure out how to resize it.  I'm using JoomlaFCK as the editor (which defaults to none.php in unsupported browsers) and both are too wide.  I've tried adjusting the width of the mambots in their config pages - not working.  HELP!

Hi

I have a simple question. Is it allowed to turn off the "JoomlArt.com - Ja Submit 2.1!" text at the bottom? I would leave it in the code, but not at the site.
i hope that someone can answere the question.

thanks!

I don't think it's against the copy right laws to remove the logo. The only thing I know that you can't do is write created by " you" whoever the author of the website is, but u can remove it. I hope. I do read the copyright rules to see if there are any do's and don'ts. I did not see any. If there is.. someone tell me!

Hi,

I am using Joomla 1.0.12 and Virtuemart 1.0.9. I need checked "Check stock" -> "Show products that are out of stock"
in Global Admin.

When i update the configuration settings and hit Save icon I redirected to http://mysite.com/administrator/index2.php

it means i cannot save changes in admin configuration , of course configuration file is writeable.

Any guidance I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Anees.

Hi,
I can't get this to work on my site.  I'm using 1.0.10.  It acts as if the component isn't even installed.  When I register a new member and attempt to submit content it says not authorized.  I even hacked the core code and made it so that new members are automatically authors.  Now it will allow a new member to submit content, but I can't choose from the categories that I set in the Ja submit configuration.  Can you help?
Thanks

Hi, JA Submit looks good.
But, i think I have read like 47 different times where people have asked about how on earth you get the pictures to show in the content after uploading them.
I have not seen one answer, really answering.
So, my question is simple:

Will I ever get the uploaded pictures to show in content?

If anyone that can say yes to this also wants to tell me how, i will be ever so happy and greatfull.

Thanks.

I have Joomla FCK wysiwyg editor installed, but it doesnt not appear in my JA Submit intro part of the article, just the main text(optional) part. How can I fix this? Will other wysiwyg editors work?

When testing JA Submit, I received a confirmation email telling me to "Please login and process this new content"

However I do not find where to process it.

Admittedly, I am a newbie site administrator. Would someone have mercy on me and point me to where I can process a submission?

Thanks.

Hi
try installing an admin module called unpublished items, this will show you all items that are submitted using JASUBMIT
otherwise you need to scroll through all your posts until you come across it...

Is there a way to administrate this on the front end so I can assign the task to a staffer?

by default, you can't do that unless you modify the component by yourself to support frontend content administration. you can ask this feature this to joomlart forum to be added into wishlist. however, i don't know their roadmap for this component. the development seems a bit sluggish.

I have not been able to get the image upload working properly.  It appears that the path is wrong, or maybe i have something wrong.  When I upload the image it all appears to go well and the image IS actually uploaded, but then just show a box with "Image" and when I look at the article from the backend, the path to the image appears to be wrong.

Any advice?

Worked it out!

When I upload, my server (commercial CPANEL host) changes UPPERCASE to lowercase, including all extentions.

I wonder if this is an APACHE setting that they might be able to change?

Further to this... is appears that the "resize.php" has used the "strtolower" in the script to resize the image.  This is quite strange I feel, given that LAMP servers don't see UPPER and lower the same.

I have found the particular offending piece of code and have changed it.  I'll let you know the results

So maybe I'm telling many of you something you already know, but I have finally sorted this whole image upload thing.

The problem is that the resize.php uses "strtolower" when uploading the images.  What this does is makes the ACTUAL uploaded image file all lowercase, whilst the image reference in the MYSQL database still the way your original file was.  This ALSO includes the extention.

LAMP servers don't see UPPER and lower the same.  Why the makers of the resize script would put that there is a mystery to me (but I'm no programmer), but there you go.

So all I had to do was to change line 63 in resize.php from
Code:
   $file = $newfilename . strtolower($filename);

to
Code:
   $file = $newfilename . ($filename);

As I said maybe this is OLD news, but it took me 24 hours to work it out, so I hope this post might save someone else the time down the track.

Thanks again to the developers of JASUBMIT for what I just KNEW would be a fantastic component, which it now is!

Cheers

Yes, a great component, and thanks also Norm for that fix regarding file names. I know I'm on a Linux server so before any image goes up there it is in lowercase and any spaces replaced with underscores. That's my sytandard though I can see that other submitters might not be as fastidious with things like that
Maybe that's why I never had any problems in my testing. And it isn't an Apache thing, it is a Linux thing where all file names and extensions are case sensitive.

What I really want to find out is how to make the security images on the component work. I installed the security image files for it, thing runs well, security images show just fine, just never gets around to verifying my input and keeps kicking me back saying that I have not entered the codes properly.

I really want to use this component but not without some form of entry security.

I use JaSubmit on my site for visitors may send me messages, questions with this component. Autopublishing is disabled in config. Email notification disabled too.

Visitors fills next required fields: name, category, e-mail and main text. So, my question is:

WHERE and HOW can i see the e-mail address of sender?

When i browse a message in database i can see only a main text and name of sender! Where is e-mail?

Help me, please. :'(  And sorry for my english :)
