UPDATE New version available: JM-Link Us v1.1 (2006-07-28). See at the bottom of this post (next to the paperclip icon). Further details in reply # 10. Typo corrected in language file (2006-08-05). Explained in reply # 12. ****************** Hi all, This is the second component (third extension) I have written. J-Link Us is a "Link to Us" component, as its name suggests. I made it, once again, to have a functionality I didn't find anywhere for Joomla! I just found Link to Us for $ambo by perfect-pets, which was a beta and lacked of administration panel, so it didn't help much. Based on: This time my sources of inspiration were:
Language files: English, Spanish and French are included in the package. The component will pick up the right one according to your Joomla! settings, or English by default. License: J-Link Us is released under the GNU/GPL License. Demo: Not available for the moment. You can see a live example (front end) in my test Joomla! directory: http://www.poraqui.net/joomla User: test Password: test. (it is a password-protected folder). I hope that you like this component and that it is useful to you. Please leave your comments here or PM me. Feedback will be much appreciated. Thanks. ![]() NOTE. Other extensions of mine:

QUESTION How can I get the component name, the images and the Textarea box to center?? Thanks again for such a neat component. Even if you do not develop it any more, I like the way it is now. WP1 |

Hi WP1, I'm glad that you liked the component. ![]() As I said in the other thread, I'm not a programmer at all, but I'll try to answer your questions: ![]() wp1 wrote: The component name, the images and the Textarea box do not center. If you mean in the front end, they should do by default, as seen on my site. User: test Password: test. (password-protected folder). The alignment is determined in j-linkus.html.php:

Hi elmoch!! Thanks for such an extensive response. For a person who is supposedly not a coder you did quite well with this component. (From another non-coder trying to play with components and mods as well. )I think the template is causing this problem. I may need to keep playing with the HTML code a bit in the component and in the main template. If I find a solution, I will post it here. Thanks again elmoch!! WP1 |

Recommend Plus has so much potential! One thing I would love to get running with is a hidden CC so that my admins can see what people are emailing (and possibly to whom) Has Anyone done this? |

Thank you designguru, I'm very happy to learn that you like my component. ![]() Right now I am finishing a new rebranded version of it. It is configurable but doesn't include the option you suggest. I guess some kind of log would be useful for the admins, but that's quite difficult for me to implement . However, this is an open source component, so anyone can improve it . If the function you require is not available yet you may implement it yourself, if you have the necessary skills. I would be grateful to be told about any progress, BTW. ![]() Regards. |

Hi, Maybe I'm missing something somewhere. Is there an actual link to the J-Link Us component somewhere? I've read about the component, seen the demo, but it's not very clear at all where I can download it. Help please, Gusty

Ok, now I'm ![]() I finally noticed the tiny little paper-clip with the attachment. Not to Board folks: Couldn't this Attachment icon be larger, or a more noticable color? Thanks, Gusty |

Please, to discuss on JM-Recommend (as I recently rebranded Recommend Plus) go to its dedicated topic. If you want to ask designguru about other matters, please contact him or her by PM. Please keep this thread on-topic. The topic here is J-Link Us (soon to be rebranded as JM-Link Us). Thank you for your co-operation. |

Hi, all I have released a new version of my link to us component: JM-Link Us 1.1. It has been rebranded as JM-Link Us for coherence with my other extensions and renumbered to avoid confusions with the previous version. I have tried to make it more customizable, so now you can... Choose your image directory Set custom item alignment Choose horizontal separators Use the real image directory or a foo one in the source code for the image links presented in front end. Individual options are set in the Items Manager and layout in the Configuation Panel. The zip file can be found at the bottom of the first post in this thread (next to the paperclip icon). Thanks for feedbacks if you try it.

I installed the component just fine... however, when I go to joomla admin and try to configure it: mysiteurl/administrator/index2.php?option=com_jm-linkus&task=config Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /mysitedirectories/components/com_jm-linkus/language/english.php on line 127 |

There is a typo in line # 125 of yoursite/components/com_jm-linkus/language/english.php. I didn't detect it because I usually work with the spanish version. There is just a semicolon missing at the very end of line # 125, which should look like this: Code: define("_JML_CONF_INTRO_HELP","Text to be displayed as intro text"); I will attach the corrected version at the bottom of the first post in this thread. I regret the mistake and thank you for reporting the issue. |
