Error Description:

Missing XOAP 'link' parameter in request.
Error Code: 14

Note: This error just appeared this morning on both of my sites. Everything has been working great before today. Is this on the Weather Channels end? I am using version 1.1.0 on both sites.

Is it the new &link=xoap deal? If so, how do I fix it?

At line 50, in "/components/com_eweather/eweather.main.php", you will see the following line:

$weather_url = "http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/".$weatherDefaultLocationID."?cc=*&dayf=".$weatherDayForecast."&unit=".$weatherUnits."&par=".$weatherPartnerID."&key=".$weatherPassword.;

Find the part of that line that looks like this:

.$weatherUnits."&par=".$weatherPartnerID.

Add the following, just before the '&' in that line:

&link=xoap&prod=xoap

Your PARTIAL line should look like this:

.$weatherUnits."&link=xoap&prod=xoap&par=".$weatherPartnerID.

Your FULL line should look like this:

$weather_url = "http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/".$weatherDefaultLocationID."?cc=*&dayf=".$weatherDayForecast."&unit=".$weatherUnits."&link=xoap&prod=xoap&par=".$weatherPartnerID."&key=".$weatherPassword.;

Now, at line 66, you will need to do the same steps above.

judboy: Thanx for the solution, this just happened on our site today.

However, after applying the hack, we got the forecast for 5 days instead of 10, any idea what that may be?

EDIT:
Found it in another place:
Also to be mentioned: Forecasts are now only available for the 5 days against 10 days before.

It seems like e-weather component works with 5 days forecasts only for new versions of joomla (1.5.x) so maybe C10ne have that version. For rest of us who are still on joomla 1.0.x there is still no solution for forecast for next days :(

Yes, weather.com changed something. Developer is working on this, I think we will have solution soon. You can check on developer's forum what is going on: http://www.robertjlavey.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=3&t=56

Many thanks to developer

We now have 5 day forecast working fine again, just by modifying code as directed.

We have also made a donation to developer on his website - http://www.robertjlavey.com/.

We have been using eweather for a couple of years and it has been perfect for us - so it was about time we gave a donation.

If you are using eweather - remember to support the developers - it is easy to donate 5 bucks via PayPal on their site - http://www.robertjlavey.com/

Thanks again for the help

Carl
