I have just recently installed the component Joomlawiki and I have recieved the error message:

Installing for Joomla...

Warning: main(/var/www/html/redux/includes/defines.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/redux/components/com_joomlawiki/config/index.php on line 145

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/var/www/html/redux/includes/defines.php'

I have just checked and there is no /includes/defines.php do I create a defines.php file with nothing in it or can I download a defines.php file from a website? or does the problem lie elsewhere?

Thank you for your help.

I can't say alot but when I look into my folders, I see that there IS a /includes/defines.php INSIDE the following location (or at least should be)

... yoursite.com/components/com_joomlawiki/includes/Defines.php

I'm still REALLY green at deciphering PHP errors, but doesn't it seem like its looking for the includes/Defines.php inside your root instead of inside /components/com_joomlawiki/ where it should be? Cause.. your right, it ISNT in some /includes/Defines.php folder in your root.

No, your not supposed to create a blank one.

My ONLY idea is to suggest you uninstall the component and reinstall it. By the way, one suggestion is to unpack the ZIP or GZ file (that you got from Joomlawiki) into a fresh folder in your root. When you go to the Install Components page, use the "Install from Directory" . Put the address from you root into the line... BUT... it has to be something like the LITERAL address /home/youraccount/public_html/folderwherethejoomlainstallfilesare/

Go into the control pane, click on global settings and choose server settings and you should see that full root path listed out. Modify it or tack on the folder where the joomlainstall files are and put that pathway into the Install from Directory spot and it will install clean and fast.
