Having a problem creating and posting polls. They worked fine in the past but can't see how to do it now. The site is Joomla 1.0 and we use Fireboard for the forum and polls. There is not much about polls in the on-line manual pps 122 and 123.

We use the Polls component, put in title (aka question), options, save and publish. Nothing comes up on the home page. (The 'show on menu items' on previous polls is Discussion Forums rather than Home page, but changing it to the latter doesn't do anything).

We try importing the poll into 'Polltxt' and publishing it via 'PollXT Poll Manager', but still nothing.

We try compiling the poll in 'Polltxt' but it is odd, it doesn't save the Title and Options and doesn't publish anyway.

Maybe unrelated, maybe not, is that if I try to edit text on the home page from the front end, which used to be fine, it now doesn't let me do it, error message is: Fatal error: Call to a member function registerEvent () on a non object in /home/FOSRS/public.html/mambots/content/bot_polltxt.php on line 20

Does anyone have any ideas where this non-IT layman might start or find some advice?

Bump! We still have this problem, is there no one who knows the poll modules in Fireboard? Any pointers much appreciated.

Is the php version upgraded on the server? J1.0 is not compatible with php 5.3.

Thanks Mr Berg,

Our php is version 5.2.17, so that doesn't look to be the hiccup. The poll modules are part of Fireboard rather than Joomla 1.0, though maybe it's the same difference!

I don't know if the developer still has support.

Have you tried to delete the poll and recreate from scratch?
