What is in the video?
In this video Wilco Jansen (organisation administrator and mentor for Joomla) speaks about Google Summer of Code.

  • Why the students participated in the previous Google Summer Of Code.
  • What the ideas of the 2006 students were.
  • Obstructions in the communication (different times etc)

And many more

This was quite useful information for me, as I also will be proposing an idea for the Summer of Code 2007...

I hope you like my first started topic :)

japie1001 nice post  :D

This tech talk at the Googleplex shares information on the way we are organized, and indeed a brief overview of Summer Of Code 2006. I can only say it is huge fun, so try to get in!

Thanks for the reply. I think the tech talk is in the USA, and I live in the Netherlands...but we have a 2-day-long joomla event here every year :D

P.S.

I'm starting to like working in an open-source community :D. I think this is going to be a great learning experience. I already helped 4 members at the support forums :)

japie1001, somehow I think you are funny. Indeed it was in the states, I live in the Netherlands too and was on the organizing committee of the Dutch Joomla!day. And indeed, opens source and especially Joomla! is a great place to be
