I was giving some advice last week and somehow ended up making two simple modules.

Today I combined the two into one module - Image of the Day and put it on the forge.

This will display an image of the day OR an image of the week.

Admin parameters for:
  • Image folder
  • Image type
  • Mode of operation
  • Link
  • Sizing
  • Alt text
  • Module class suffix

Tested on 4.5.1.2, 4.5.2.2, joomla 1.0.1

mod_imageofday 1.1 beta  - New version released:

+ new feature: debug mode to display the path & url that the module is attempting to show. Very helpful when you do not input your image folder path correctly or if you simply want to see what the generated image name is for the current week of the year e.g. week39.jpg

+ new feature: default image can be selected to display when there is no image found for your settings. Also very useful for use with image of the week when you have not got around to adding 52 images in your image folder !

I thought that these two features would be really worth while especially for the image of the week function as it may not be clear exactly what image the module is looking for.

Hi,

I am sorry to renew a post so old,but I really need this module.

The download link of the module is down,perhaps if you still have this module you can uploaded sonwhere?

I have yet to confirm that the module is legit....
