Page never stops loading.

The "page loading" graphic on the browser tab spins forever on every page of http://joomlacode.org/ .

I assume it is because the closing </div> is missing from the page, although the other HTML errors can't be helping much:

Yes, you are right there seems to be a few HTML errors, however, this shouldn't be any problems for loading the page. Can you check again?

It has been this way for months, in multiple browsers, on multiple machines.

It should be an easy fix to add the missing tags.

Is their an SVN somewhere? I'll submit a patch if it helps.



Interesting. If I turn JS off, the spinning stops.

With JS on, the browser is waiting for something to finish - but it never does.

OK, I don't think it has anything to do with that missing div tag. However, you might want to try to delete the cache of your browser.

I have tried it in IE6, IE7, IE8, FF 3.6, Safari, and Chrome and all display the page just fine, and stop loading after a few milliseconds.

ok, and is this happening on the frontpage, or on all pages? Are you logged in or logged out? Does the page appear to be loaded design wise or is there some code missing? Is there anything that all those computers and browser have in common?

This is how joomlacode frontpage is looking like from my computer, maybe there is a problem with one of the ads as well?

Every page. Doesn't matter if logged in or logged out.

Page source shows all code to the very last </html> tag.

So if eveything is displayed, the only reason why it would still load would be the adds or some Google analytics script, as those would display after the page is loaded.

I left a window of the browser open with "this" page displayed.

A week later it is still spinning.

I am sorry that you have so many problems with this page. I am not sure what the problem is, but would you mind trying to add the site to the trusted sites in your Internet Explorer (when you are using that one).

Which Anti Virus Program are you using? Would you mind checking the log file for this one?
Furthermore, would you mind checking whether Javascript is enabled or disabled?

Do you have any kind of Ad blocker installed? Did you check if the ads are loaded as well?

Anti-Virus is AVG. Nothing in the log.
JS is ON.
No Ad Blocker on this machine.
Not using IE at present.

What kind of internet connection are you using? DSL, Mobil internet ?

Seamonkey, Firefox and/or Safari. Win XP today. Sometimes Win 7. DSL at about 7 MBPS.

ok. Does that happen to you on http://www.joomla.org or http://forum.joomla.org or did you experience this on any other site as well? I still think this is due to the advertising which is not loading or the google tracking code in conjunction with some kind of cookie.

I now see that it happens right across most of the Joomla empire (forums, code, docs, etc) and nowhere else.

First three - no spinning.
Last two - spinning for a long time then stopped.

Hmm, I am beginning to think it's a cookie issue after all. Perhaps those that advertisers try to set; I am guessing that some are blocked from setting them.
