I am currently trying to install 1.5 beta2 instead of 1.0.12 because i read somewhere there will be to many changes. I further read that you will have to do a clean install of 1.5.x then migrate your content from 1.0.12 plus redo layout and feel.
So i thought i'll just install 1.5 beta2 and upgrade from there so the upgrades will be seamless. Is my thinking correct here or should i dump trying to install beta2 and do 1.0.12? Will i have to start over when 1.5.x does come out?

Do NOT use beta2 (which is btw already obsolete) on a live site.
You may install 1.5 for a live site when RC is released.

I hate reading this kind of stuff. As soon as a version of the software for download is undesirable, REMOVE IT. We got to a point where any feedback about Beta 1 was useless and now we're at that point with Beta 2, so it should be removed and/or superseded.infograf768 wrote: Do NOT use beta2 (which is btw already obsolete) on a live site.
In hindsight, Joomla 1.5 should have had 4-5 beta versions. Suggesting everyone just use CVS eliminates useful responses/testing except from propellerheads.

Nightly builds for testing are well hidden, but are available.Option 3. Nightly Builds
Development of Joomla! moves fairly quickly and day-to-day things break as often as they are fixed. This high churn is part of our development process that aims to produce the most stable releases possible.
You can track changes through Subversion or on the web but many people choose to run the nightly builds to help us identify bugs. If you would like to be part of this process, please join the Testing and Quality forums.
The Testing and Quality forums are the only place appropriate for support on nightly builds, please do not use the other support forums.
