Well.. you need to install Al video plugin :

All-in-One_VideodePoche_Buttons_25
and also
plugin_jw_allvideos_2.4

you can find them all on extra addons

plugin_jw_allvideos_2.4

when you have it all above done ,

you will need to add any video or audeo store them in your host server or use any outside URL

if you are using [youtube]

you can click on [youtube]

and insert the movie URL as the below way :

{[youtube]}{/[youtube]}

you need to inseart [youtube] inbetween, for example you have the below URL

http://www.[youtube].com/watch?v=Y0wUCa-IwJc

you will need to prepare it as below :

{[youtube]}Y0wUCa-IwJc{/[youtube]}

That's all :)

In case you are still handy I find myself with another problem just now. Suddenly my menu buttons are giving a 404. I don't seem to be able to make links as I have been doing quite easily the past few days. It seems almost as if I toggled some switch off, but I don't think so.

My best advice for you ..

  install it all over again , leave the one you want for your real use .. and do all your experiments for the new instullation, andwhen you just add something and success you can do same on your prtactical real website.

just install it again , upgrade , and install that addon, you should have your database configration correctly also

I think I have SEF problems. I am actually just experimenting with this joomla. I will take your advice if I can't fix this SEF problem.

I have {swf}filename{/swf}playing now since I turned off SEF, but I noticed that it doesn't show the player and it shows the whole *.fla workspace image not the trim rectangle that is exported as *.swf. {mpeg}filename{/mpeg} shows the player but doesn't load. I tried another file type and had the same results. I think it was avi.

In my site it's working for you tube in both ff & fe but showing only box for my server mpg file. I think the problem is in server. I've few more problems as I can't edit indexc.php file. Also I can't write html in content. It seems server has problem with html code. Today my server support told me that they have facing a hard disc failure problem. I find many time my server stop working as today it was saying for saving or opening my index php file when I tried to open it. This happened for two hours. Thanks!!

New Joomla person here, so be gentle.
I have installed the latest version AllVideos Plugin v2.0 and it says it is published.  I am trying to add a [youtube] video but when i do, I get this message:

Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Unknown modifier 'c' in /home/motocame/public_html/joomla/mambots/content/plugin_jw_allvideos.php on line 201

I have the latest version of Joomla installed.  Any thoughts as to what i am doing wrong?
One person above said something about the php mambot has to be higher ranked than the AllVideos Plugin v2.0 but I do not see a php mambot in my list.

please help me.

thanks,
Bill

Probably some HTML code has been mixed with the AllVideos tags. Make sure you haven't used the WYSIWYG editor to "mark" the tags red or something.  ;)

Is there a tag to embed myspace videos on joomla sites?  We ( http://www.surfingnz.co.nz ) can embed video from [youtube] no worries but when we try the myspace tag it wont work.  We are currently using {myspace}....{/myspace}.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

SNZ

DailyMotion encrypts URLs and they cannot reflect the actual video files (in contrast to [youtube] for example).

That means the only way to add Dailymotion in Joomla is by using the full embed tag provided by this service.

Hello,  and pardon me if I am not posting the question at the right place.

I have downloaded the zip file from the website. Then installed it on my joomla site. It appears to be well installed since it is now available in the mambots section, with the basic instructions.

I did set the mambot to "published" and saved.

Now i am trying to insert , for the first time, a [youtube] video, using the tag {[youtube]}xyz123{/[youtube]}. If I understood well, i instert this tag directly in the window where i type the text (right?) .  I did so...

But when i try to see the item, either in preview or the published article... all I see is the code itself  "{[youtube]}xyz123{/[youtube]}", and obviously no video...    Is there  an additional setting I should adjust somewhere or is there something i am doing wrong ?

Thanks a lot

Hello, thank you for the reply. However as I said in the question, the mambot is published, so this is not the problem.

Any other suggestion ?  Is there a way to verify if the installation of the mambot is ok ?

Thank you

Are you able to let us know if you can/can't do thumbnails for videos or where you got your info from?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the problem with .flv files not displaying in IE 6 has been fixed?  My .flv file will look like it's playing, but it will not get past the first picture, and there is no sound.  It is 10MB and is stored in the images/stories/video folder on my server.
Thanks!

Has anybody had success using this component to embed streaming video in a forum? I am using fireboard on http://westcoastcustomkia.com/index.php ... 3&id=71#71 and changed the master video folder to the default fireboard file upload folder.

I am new to joomla, I read this piece of conersation but I ended up nowhere.
I have recently installed allvideo plugin. The installation was fine but I dont know how to start up.
I have content where I should have video, but do I need to create videos inside images/stories as I find no such folder.
and I am doing everything locally, the videos are in my C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music now what should I do? I am totally confused.
please do reply

you have to upload them through the media manager than tell the mambot what folder they are in.
