It does work here.

You have a return
between the 2 "e" in the closing
{/klrssfe
ed}
instead of
{/kl_rssfeed}

Nice bot - works perfect for us... almost
I have read through the 12 pages of this forum and have found a few people with similar problems but need some clarification on the solution.
I have it set up such that I can get a "local" rss feed fine through kl_rssfeed, but as soon as I try one from the webworld eg yahoo news or whatever. I can get that same yahoo news one via a browser - so know their site is up and running.

Previous answers seem to suggest that our service provider must support "inbound rss". We are indeed behind a firewall so I suspect that is the issue. However previous postings only say "ask them to fix it".
How do they fix it exactly? Open a port? Which port? Any details would be great.
Thanks

I'm having problems getting this working.  It's installed correctly, but I'm not getting any output from the feed.  I've enabled debugging, and that's not telling me much.

http://celebritysplatter.com/index.php? ... &Itemid=37

Edit: Problem solved.  I think the issue was with the google news rss feed.

Some feeds do have issues indeed in joomla 1.0.x due to the limitations of the domit library.

I am new to joomla and I am trying to figure out where to put the {kl_rssfeed}http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=new+york&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt{/kl_rssfeed}

to test this.  I tried putting it in a static content box, but that didn't work.

How and where do you use it?

Have you installed the bot, parametered it and published it?
The tags will work in static content as well as other contents.

It wasn't published. Like I said, I am a newbie to Joomla.

I have setup kl_rss feed and enabled the plugin

I have created an article in my content with article manager and within the article is wish to display an RSS feed.

I enter the following code to test this feature:
Quote:
<p>A <a href="http://www.joomla.org">Joomla! 1.0.x</a>
mambot enabling you to put in newsfeeds within content. Powerful yet yet easy to use.</p>
<p>rss Feed alows for the inclusion of rss feeds in content items.</p> <p>Example:{kl_rssfeed}http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=new+york&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt{/kl_rssfeed}</p>
<p>This script has updates to the core to make it accessible (none-accessible items are within the newsfeed it self). No more tables.</p>

What I get is the text displayed but no results.... as follows

Quote:
A Joomla! 1.0.x mambot enabling you to put in newsfeeds within content. Powerful yet yet easy to use.

rss Feed alows for the inclusion of rss feeds in content items.

Example:{kl_rssfeed}http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=new+york&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt{/kl_rssfeed}

This script has updates to the core to make it accessible (none-accessible items are within the newsfeed it self). No more tables.

I am rather new to this but are the "{" meant to be replaced by a "<" etc or what is it that I am doing wrong?

Placing "{kl_rssfeed}http://.....{/kl_rssfeed}" simply seems to display what I enter into the html code so I am obviously missing something here.

By the way I am using Joomla 1.5 with legacy mode switched on and running the UTF vsn of KL_rss (and yes it is enabled and the article which contains the code is also published...)

Thanks

kl_rssfeed does not work at all in 1.5.x series.
The implementation of Simplepie as a rss library instead of domit, as well as the new API require a full recode.
When I have time, and some help, I will make a 1.5.x version

Does anyone out there know of a way to aggregate news feeds on one page in 1.5 since kl_rssfeed does not work? It's kind of a bummer with feeds that you can only have one per page if using a menu item to create...

I use Slick RSS.

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

You can see it in use in this site I created for an author: http://robinslick.com/

The Journal at the top of the page is a feed from the author's blogspot.com page.

Good News to all... :)
At last, I adapted kl_rssfeed to Joomla! 1.5.x...

This means you may now migrate easily a 1.0.x site to 1.5.x without having to change one word in the articles using the plugin. ;)
Just install, enable the plugin and set its global parameters to the same settings you had with 1.0.x.

This update lets display the feed items' date if present in the feed.
Date is translated and formatted according to the language used.

I have updated kl_rssfeed 1.5 native to version 3.4
It has now the necessary parameters to scroll if desired. :)

Very cool. I like the scrolling option!
I was trying to simplify the display of the list sans the emdash and H4, so I found I could edit line 250-1 like this
Code:
<a href="<?php echo $currItem->get_link(); ?>" target="_blank">
<?php echo $currItem->get_title(); ?></a>

I'm using the kl_rssfeed v1.0.10 from here:

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

I'm using it in Joomla 1.0.15 with PHP 5.2.6.

Here's my statement:
Code:
{kl_rssfeed}http://rss.cnn.com/rss/money_realestate.rss{/kl_rssfeed}

But my output looks like this:

Code:
One of the country's top banking regulators said Thursday that the government is working on a plan to do more to help troubled homeowners. pa href="http://rss.cnn.com/~a/rss/money_realestate?a=2tdXfA"img src="http://rss.cnn.com/~a/rss/money_realestate?i=2tdXfA" border="0"/img/a/pimg src="http://rss.cnn.com/~r/rss/money_realestate/~4/429670880" height="1" width="1"/

The HTML entities are not displaying correctly. I'm not sure why this is happening. I recently moved from PHP 4 where it did work.

Any ideas? Thank you. :)

Hi, mine is not working at all.
It's as if the tags are not read, and the code will just show in the output page.
I know multiple people are experiencing the same problem, but when switching hosts, it works.

I'm not a developer/expert, but I'm looking around the php settings and I noticed:
allow_url_fopen On On
allow_url_include Off Off

should allowurlinclude be on?? or is there other possible settings that need to be enabled in order for this to work.
