Multiple independent sections on Hompage

Joomla 2.5

I am trying to divide the Homepage area into 5 areas to display articles from 5 Categories and have them completely independent of each other so that I could have different formats for each.

Added to that I am wanting to have the section header format the same as the sections for Main Menu and login forms. In both sites I will be trying to get rid of the Home header also.
