Do I need to check each website for updates as to wether they are going to continue or not or is there a list being made up.

I have a few free and paid for ones on my site

First, anything you're currently using is absolutely OK.  The suggestion that developers get their extensions in compliance with Joomla's license has nothing to do with end users.  It has everything to do with distribution... as long as you're not offering downloads of those packages, you're just fine.

If you want to know which of the projects are taking new directions or discontinuing development, I would suggest waiting a few weeks for the dust to settle before digging around.  With OSM's commitment to assisting in getting extensions into compliance, plus new and clarified information, I have a feeling all but the most closed-minded of developers will shortly come back into the fold.

Right now a lot of what is happening is a few of the more prolific developers are, rightly, concerned about profits.  As the reality sets in and the hysteria is quelled, everything will return to close to normal... as long as we all keep our heads cool and work together.
