I have a top menu but now want to put up a main menu on the homepage. I've gone to main menu in the module manager and played around with that but nothing has changed. I've tried enabling it from the menu manager but I just don't know what I'm doing apparently.

In the modules under main menu, you should be able to select what pages it will be visible under Menu Assignment

I have done this! I have (clicked on yes), (position: right), (order: 3::main menu),

and under Menu assignment selected: select menu items and highlighted the ones I want. I could go on through the rest of the parameters if that makes any difference?

I know it might seem obvious but in global conf system set the cache to no and clear the cache in your browser.
If its been a long time then it wont be this.......

Thanks for trying to help me! The cache was already set to no and I cleared the browser cache. Still no main menu in sight... AARRGGGHHH

Ok, here is the screenshot. I chose to open the module parameters. You can't open all of the parameters at once. I hope this helps!!!

The only thing I see to try is:
select menu assignment ALL
menu style VERTICAL
Show sub items YES

that's it! i could swear I tried that combo but I guess not. Thank-you so much!
