Hi guys

I am currently setting up a personal site for my own business. I have created my own design and template with artisteer and the template works fine.

I now am looking at adding content to the site. Here is my problem. If you take a look at my site (http://www.goodit.ulmb.com)

Basically as you can see I have 3 modules in the positions user1, user2 and user 3.

I want to display different articles under each one. Is this possible. So for example under the "What we offer" module I want it do have something like this

"What we offer"
- Article 1
- Article 2
- Article 3
etc

Under "Our Promise I want
- Article 4
- Article 5
- Article 6
etc and so on...

I'm not entirely sure how to set this up. I've had a look through the available modules and im not sure which one Im supposed to use. The modules in user 1 and 2 are still set to "mod_mostread" and "mod_latestnews"...

Is it possible to achieve what I actually want? I would be most grateful for anyhelp.

If theres any questions etc then please feel free to ask.

Regards,

Here you go:
In Components->Weblinks, you can create two Categories:
1. What we offer
2. Our Promise

In Weblink category "What we offer" add, following links:
Direct Link/URL of Article 1
Direct Link/URL of Article 2
Direct Link/URL of Article 3

In Weblink category "Our Promise" add, following links:
Direct Link/URL of Article 4
Direct Link/URL of Article 5
Direct Link/URL of Article 6

Now Create a new module (from Module Manager)
Select Module Type as "Weblinks" and choose category as "what we offer"

Now Create another module (from Module Manager)
Select Module Type as "Weblinks" again and choose category as "Our Promise"

Publish and Place these two modules at desired locations (user1 or 2 or 3).
There are other ways of doing this as well but this is the simplest approach I have used in some Joomla websites.
Let me know if you still have doubts.
Hope this helps!!

Hi mate,

First off thanks for replying.

I have followed your guide and got to the part where I have to create a new module.

I haven't ever worked with Weblinks on Joomla before but when I click On module manager and then on "New" It doesn't give me the option to a module as a weblink...

Do I have to download and install this module in order to do this?

Remember im on joomla 1.5... not sure if it was implemented in this version.

I hope you can help.

Regards, :)

Hello,

I am not sure if we can select module type as Weblinks or not in Joomla 1.5. But in Joomla 1.7.3, we can surely do this.
New version of Joomla has many advanced features. I used Joomla 1.5 long time back and now I am using Joomla 1.7.3 as thats far better than 1.5.
If you are making a site from scratch, i would suggest you to use the latest version of Joomla.
