Hi

We currently host an Intranet site that is only accessible by using
http://Server IP:Port Number/joomla/

We need to update this to use a proper domain name - eg http://www.site.co.uk

Unfortunately, we seem to be unable to accomplise this; other sites are hosted on the same webserver. Could anybody advise how this can be done please.

Once that has been accomplished, we want to secure the site via SSL to https://www.site.co.uk

Any assistance greatly received

This is not a Joomla issue. See the documentation for your web server on how to set it up.

Virtual Hosting must be set up to have many domains/web sites.

For Apache the file to edit is httpd.conf

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/

For other brands of web servers see their documentation.
