Illegal string offset 'mime' & 'defer' & 'async' on homepage

Hello fellow Joomla users,
I moved a joomla installation from one host to another (with AkeebaBackup).
I'm getting an error on the homepage however:

Note: I added the '(..)' here.

What's the cause, and more importantly at the moment, how do I fix it?
The Joomla is version 1.7.2.

Try uploading a new head.php file in the folder path given. You can download a full files set for your Joomla version here;

That didn't work, the files are identical.
However, I found a much simpler (temporary) solution: I turned error reporting from maximum to none.
