hidden menu link displaying slideshow module

Hello,

I created a hidden menu so I can link to k2 items in a category. I placed the link at the bottom of all my pages. There are 2 pages that I have a slideshow module. The slideshow will continue to display when I click on the link to the hidden menu. It does connect the link to the hidden k2 content but I am not sure how to remove the slideshow article.
The slideshow module menu item settings are set to only "check" pages.
