404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
Hi,
This is my first post, been using Joomla for about a week - slowly getting there! I've created an article called "Logon Script" in the "SBS 2003" category, and I want to link to it from another article called "Networking".
So I edit the "Networking" page (not a new page) and type "Logon Script", then turn it into a hyperlink, click save, and I get "403 Forbidden".
I have played around a bit and discovered that if I enter the work "logon" (not case sensitive) on any page and click save, I get the 403.
Any ideas? I've searched but found nothing.
Thanks and regards,
Daniel Mundy
PS. This is using the TinyMCE editor 2.0 (I think the plugin was installed by default?)

Check with your host, this may be a mod_security block.

Re: 404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
The strange thing is that I've already created the page that I'm trying to link to:
http://mundy.com.au/SBS-2003/logon-script
This has the word "script" in both the URL and the body of the article.

I'm sorry you found my suggestion pointless to try to follow. All the best finding a solution then.

Sorry mate I didn't mean to offend, I will send bluehost an email to see if that is the problem. I just thought that if they were blocking it, then it would have not allowed me to create the logon-script page to begin with.
Thanks for your help,
Daniel

Re: 404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
I've been playing around some more and found that when I view source on the 403 page it says <script> tag in POST
But I don't have that tag, I have:
<a href="SBS-2003/logon-script">test</a>
It's almost as if it's checking for <*script*> rather than just <script> ... is there any way around this?
Thanks,
Daniel

Re: 404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
Hi Brad,
I've logged a ticket with my web host to see if it's mod_security causing this, I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything back.
However I've done some more Googling and tried a few more things, and notice that I don't get the 403 error when I edit the article from the administration backend... so I don't think that's it.
I think it must have something to do with the editor, I'm using the TinyMCE plugin that came preinstalled, and am reluctant to install too many extra plugins if they're not needed (I went that way with Drupal before I settled on Joomla, and found that the more plugins I installed, the less stable my site became, so this time around I'm trying to stick with core where possible).
Thanks for your help,
Daniel

Re: 404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
I've just installed Joomla FCK editor and have the same problem.
I don't understand why it works in the back end and not the front end... ie. when I go to article manager, and edit an article, I don't get the 403 Forbidden page.
The user account I'm using should have enough permissions, it is super administrator.
Thanks,
Daniel

Re: 404 Forbidden when entering the word "Script" on an article
I finally figured this out! For anyone else having this problem:
If you've got sh404sef installed, change "Activate Security Functions" to No.
I've added this to my KB: http://mundy.com.au/Joomla-1.5/403-forb ... ag-in-post
