Adding HTML content to Joomla from an External Application

Post by vsavard » Mon Jul 06, 2009 12:57 pm

I am interested in extracting article content from Print layouts (Quark Xpress specifically) and then publishing the article content through Joomla. I can extract XML from Quark but I am not sure how to directly put this content into Joomla.

I know that the web-editor is the primary way of creating articles but is there any way of generating articles external to Joomla, the storing them in Joomla as an article assigned to a section and category?

Thanks,

Vince

There are several "parsers" that parse rss feeds to Joomla Content tables...

One is called Feed2Post

I don't know if your XML could be read by that parser, but it probably wouldn't be all that difficult to hack it to do that.

1 issue is that it's legacy code.

There is also a category in the extensions area called "Automatic Articles"

Have a look, and contact some of the developers about your specific needs.
Don't HACK the Joomla! core, Instead "Extend" and/or "Override."
Stay ON the update path.
