I made an account that is allowed to write an article at any given time. The problem is that the article has to be approved through the administrator. How can I publish an article without having it being approved through the back end?

If you give the author editor, publisher rights, they can publish it
immediately. Look to the right of the article and you'll see some
options, like starting dates, etc.

This only shows up if the person from the front end is higher
than just an "author".

The account is currently an author so should I just change it to a publisher, because I don't want the account to have to much access. Just enough to publish, write and edit the accounts articles.

Yes, but that is if it is you or a very trusted account. This person can
write article, publish it and delete it. A publisher can add, modify
and delete ANYONE's articles.

An author can only modify their articles.

I've got a problem to find the right extension. I want registered user (in frontend)to write and publish articles and images in frontend. I'm looking for non-commercial extension or very cheap commercial one. I've done research but with no result .
Is there any extension that would help me to do that? Please help, urgent.

I guess I'd recommend JomSocial or Community Builder. They both
allow wrting articles from front end, and you can set it to allow
immediate publication, which most people would not recommend.
Setting approval of registration will control some of the spammers
efforts, but you will still need some monitoring if you allow users
to post and publish immediately.

The key thing is that the front end user needs to have at least author rights to submit an article, and publisher rights to make it go live immediately.

Joomla provides an 'article submission' menu type ... that's build in to the Joomla core.

I have also used "Content Submit" on many sites:

It's a nice, free extension.

There are many other "Content Submission" extensions (some free, some commercial) here:

I'm using login module built in in joomla1.5.2.1 but cant fix the problem. The user cant activate his account because the email hasnt been sent. Please help.
is there any login module that sends activation email to the user?

I've been really needing to do this sort of thing in a couple of sites. I can't quite figure out if "Content Submission" does what I need.

Here's what I need to accomplish:
1. Authors submit articles to certain categories
2. Authors can edit their entries or move entries into different categories later on
3. Administrator can create forms to gather entries from authors, and articles with custom layouts are are generated from those form entries

I looked at full-fledged CCKs, but often the templating seems too confusing.

I'd be interested in hearing how others solve similar challenges.
