Hi there,

I have a product I sell via download, and I was horrified to find that search engines are indexing this page.

I have read a bit about robots.txt, and I have been able to find this file and download it for editing.

The offending page is located at:
http://www.newteacherskit.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63

I am very new to Joomla, but I think to block search engines finding this page, I need to put the following text into my robots.txt

Dissallow : /index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63


Can someone please confirm if I am correct? And if not, could you steer me in the right direction please?

That is the right way to block the page. In Google's webmaster tools (sign up and get an account if you don't already have one) there is an option to test your robots.txt file to see that pages are being successfully blocked with the code used in the file.

One thing to bear in mind is that Joomla can create more than one URL for the same page of information on your site so you'll need to check that as well.
