How to remove 'Edit Icon' now appearing in articles

My website uses the inbuilt Joomla blog component to display articles by category

I did two things today and now have an edit icon appearing on the front end for all articles,

1. Installed Joomlapack
2. Installed LyftenBloggie

Both have now been uninstalled but the edit icon remains. There is no Article parameter to check or uncheck.

How can this be removed?

Thank you :'(

I have also just noticed all my unpublished articles still have the unpublished icon but are being published!

Issue is simple: You have logged in into frontend and in your database the session still shows you logged in (admin) Just a simple solution without going into phpmyadmin and truncate the jos_session table is to login into frontend and logout again (as super admin). This will resolve

In lay terms... When you are logged into your website as administrator, you will see all unpublished articles, and the edit icon... Log out and log in as a "Registered" user to view the site as a normal User would see it.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I've working with Joomla! for about a year... and I forget sometimes that I am logged in as admin and think something is wrong.

when you are logged in - is there any way of preventing edit icon from coming up at top of each article on front page and creating big white areas around it?

thanks frances

That only happens when you log in as a user which have editing rights of a submitted article which is Publisher of above for all articles and editor for those articles created by a user with that status.

If you log in as "author" or registered you won't see those edit buttons
