Error 403 - You are not authorised to view this resource

Hi all,

Am new to this board and also relatively new to Joomla. I created a site for someone recently and everything was working fine for a couple of weeks until today - I get the above error when going to the homepage. I've googled the error but haven't come across any fixes that work. I'd really appreciate if someone can help me fix this!

The 403 error happens when accessing the homepage www.muzaah.com BUT, the following link works fine: http://www.muzaah.com/index.php?option= ... e&Itemid=1

Welcome to the forum!

I think the site root is not properly defined. You need to make sure that http://www.muzaah.com/ lands on your Joomla root directory. If you create a dummy index.html in the site root can you access it?

Hello- I am experiencing the same problem! I know this is an old thread, but if you have a solution as to how to resolve this problem, I would appreciate it. I'm a Joomla newbie.

- check your joomla version.... it uses "view=featured" or "view=frontpage"???
- set error_reporting to maximum and check more error.

Hello there! I am building a site at localhost. I have set error_reporting to maximum on my directory site configuration.php and I even looked at my php.ini and set display_errors=On.

When I type localhost in the address bar of my explorer I can see on my site
1) the template
2) my three choice menu
3) a message error 403: The requested page cannot be found
AND
on my explorer title i get "Error 403. You are not authorised to view this resource."

Then:
When I choose Login from my menu, then errors disappear and I can see the Login Form (I have taken the predefined form from joomla)
When I move to my own articles then I see the errors again.

I set access in my two articles access = public.
I tried even access = Guest but with no luck

It must have to do with the articles I create.

I have checked my article permissions
I have on Public three option permissions delete, edit, edit state
I even set them to allowed
but no luck
Now I am not sure what should I do
Can you help me?
