When my customer edits a Joomla 1.5 site on the front end (using the latest Joomla CK editor) sometimes the images in the editor window within the article are broken . I can not replicate this on my PC. Upon investigation his images are incorrectly showing a full path (which is incorrect) rather than the relative path to the images.
In his editor window, if he right clicks on the broken image to investigate the path it is showing something like http://www.domain.com/whats-on/image/stories/image.jpg (which is NOT the path to the image, therefore it breaks the image). On my PC I am correctly seeing /images/stories/image.jpg as the path to the same image.
Because this full URL path is NOT where the image is stored, he is inadvertantly breaking the image on the front end whenever he edits and saves the article.
Why would his editor show this full (and incorrect) path to the image instead of the correct relative path like mine does? I have added the live site URL in the configuration file but no change.
Note that the /whats-on/part of the failed URL path is a category name and a menu link if that is a clue to the prob...
This problem effectively means he cannot make edits via the front end, so any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Did you solve this issue?? I'm experiencing the same one with the latest Joomla CK editor on a 2.5 site. if the articles are updated from the admin backend, the image relative path is used and it works fine.

However, when the article is edited from the front end log in, the full path is added to the image (even when it hasn't been changed, only the text in the artlcle); but since that full path being added is wrong, the image breaks. How can I prevent the image URL from being changed?
