Can I upgrade to PHP 5.4?

My current site is 1.5.26 using PHP 5.2. I downloaded 3.x and tried to install it so I could start working on an updated site. I received an error telling me that I need PHP 5.3 or higher to install either 2.x or 3.x. A previous post said that 1.5.26 will work with PHP 5.3, but didn't say anything about 5.4. I looked at the php.config file and saw that my only options are 5.2 and/or 5.4. No 5.3.

Does Joomla 1.5 work with PHP 5.4?

Some people have reported problems using Joomla 1.5 with php 5.4. It would be best to copy your site to a local server and test it with php 5.4 there. You can use Wampserver or Xampp as your server, you can use an Akeeba Backup file to clone your site locally.
