Custom Links to Download Files

Hello

Does anybody know if it is possible to display links with custom text that relate directly to a download?

For example if you look at the front page of our site: http://www.graysconvent.thurrock.sch.uk/ I would like to be able to put a link that reads something like 'Click here to download whatever' that actually prompts the download instead of linking to another page with the Phoca Download link.

If you follow the Information Booklet link on the front page it might make things clearer.

Any help or advice on this welcome.

Hello

In case anybody else picks this up I managed to solve this problem.

It's just a case of uploading the file (Phoca Download) then publishing an article with the Phoca Download string in it (using the ID of the article you want).

Use your website to find the article you just created and you will see the download link. Right click on the link, click properties and copy the URL.

Now using your management console create a new link by pasting in the URL and using whatever text you want.

This way it automatically prompts for the download without redirecting to the article page so you can actually unpublish the article page you just made because the only reason you need to set it up is to get the URL property of the link.
