Make Image a Link to Article

Hello

I'm sure this will be pretty straightforward for anybody who knows.

I would like to be able to make an image a link to another page.

I've been reading tutorials but something seems to be different about my Joomla. In the tutorials I see you just select the image and choose to insert a link.

When I do this however I am presented with a box to insert the URL (get that bit) but underneath a field for the text I want displayed as the link which obviously I don't but I can't apply the changes without filling it in?

I believe that you are referring to the option/parameter/field Title. This field is not mandatory.

I have tested this in a Joomla! 1.5.26 site and it works file without the Title field entered.

What version of Joomla! is being used?

Hello

I am referring to the screenshot attached.

I have right clicked on the image, chosen Insert\Edit link but cannot insert without first putting something in the text field.

I'm using version 1.5.18

It looks like you may be using the editor JCE. I am testing with the editor TinyMCE.

Anyway, you could try the following:
- Enter the Title and save the article
- Open the article again for Edit and click on the button "Toggle editor" -> This should show the editing porting of the screen as HTML text
- Remove the text string that defines the title (e.g., title="title entered")
- Save the article

Note:
(i) Make sure to take a complete backup of your site files and the database content before attemptting this
(ii) The latest version of Joomla! 1.5 is 1.5.26 + Hotfix patch
(iii) Joomla! 1.5 is no longer supported
