My antique Joomla build is down thanks to an infection that (appears to have) onboarded through an email account. After a short suspension by the host, I cleaned out a long list of files per their instructions.

Most of these looked like they piggy-backed in, so I deleted them when no content was found. At the end of the exercise, the site was no longer feeding up so I created a blank index file and let it idle while dealing with other tasks.

I don't have any interest in rebuilding the platform, but I do need to recover the site's contents. I have database backups. Can anyone recommend the best way to do this?

Fixed: I installed an old version of MAMP rebuilt the site locally, allowing me to access the site and extract the content.
