Joomla 1.5 and MySQL 5.7 and above

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a requirement to upgrade a server's MySQL instance to 5.7.x (to support newer Joomla 3.6 based extensions that we have created bespoke for a client).

The problem that we have is that we have legacy Joomla 1.5.10 websites on the same server that cannot be upgraded.

These websites are due to be replaced in the first quarter 2017.

Question:

Has anybody out there tested Joomla 1.5 with MySQL 5.7 for compatibility? I know there are quite a few updates (specifically around GROUP functions of MySQL) that could cause some major problems.

I look forward to your comments... Hoping for some good news...

What php version are you running?

1.5.10 is severe outdated. At least update to 1.5.26 so you can run php 5.3 or 5.4

How have you got on with this?
I have 11 J1.5 sites on a server and need to upgrade to MySQL 5.5 would like to know what has happened with yours please?
