Localhost intallation

Hello! My Name is martin and I´m installing with xampp a local host for joomla 1.5, I already unziped the package.....but my question how I paste into the root of the local host the file unziped or create a subfolder in the local host root for to do it?.

Hi! Ghonjez,

Thank for your quick response But the link you given to me Don´t work for a IP signup in Dominican Republic (my country).

Could you provide me with a little detail how to paste in the root of the local host the files..........

I´m doing this:

Go to the browser and type http://localhost/joomla15

and I get host replay telling me that there is not far a a /joomla15 folder....All I need to know is how a create the folder and then paste the file.

I would suggest using Wamp Server 2. Here is a tutorial on how to work Wamp and Joomla! 1.5..

I know It's not directly on topic but I've developed many websites with Wamp and it's very reliable and easy to use.
