Cant preview site on WAMP

I'v installed WAMPSERVER on my PC. Installed Joomla. (i leave the FTP details bit emty as its all local). Removed the installation file. Get taken to the administration back end. All editing works and is accepted. But when I select to preview the fruits of my labour it just shows the localhost directory. Its as if it cant find any instructions to display the site. Iv tried re installing WAMP. I have a correctly working Joomla site online.
Any help is much appreciated.

Where did you install your local Joomla! website?
In c:\xampp\htdocs\joomla ?
Then could you try http://localhost/joomla ?

Your reply inspired me to look at the joomla files i had on the local host WAMP. I removed them and installed the files from the Joomla site again. Somewhere along the line I hadnt put all the files on the local host WAMP server before. It all works fine now. Thanks :D
