Hi all,

I just found out that my TMP directory holds 3 files:
  • index.html
    Joomla_1.5.0_to_1.5.9-Stable-Patch_Package.zip
    Joomla_1.5.7_to_1.5.8-Stable-Patch_Package.zip
1. What can I do whit those files (I'm currently running Joomla! 1.5.9)?
and
2. What is a good chmod setting for this directory?

thx
Chris

You can remove the last two files, leave the index.html (this file is needed in all folders). A good setting would be that the tmp directory is owned by the user running Apache, using 755 as permissions.

it is a temporary directory - it is used to either hold files that are needed for whatever a process is using them for, or as a staging post to hold files as they are uploaded and before they are passed to their correct final location.

It is also probably better not to tag onto the end of such an old post on the forum in future.
