Installation From BackUp Errors

I have a 1.5.26 site in a .jpa file. I cannot get it to install at all on my hosting environment. I am using MySQL5.5 and PHP5.2 which I think should run. Once I get to kickstart I get the error there is no zip/jpa file when it's there.

Then if I unpack the files and manually upload the installation page won't run at all. So then I tried a fresh downloaded version of 1.5.26 i a sub directory and again the installation page won't run. Just a blank screen or on IE a 500 error

Any Ideas

What version of Akeeba are you using? Who is your host?

Since February 23rd, 2013 all new versions of Akeeba software require PHP 5.3.4 or later.

Also check for a php.ini or .htaccess file in the root that might be blocking the installation.
