Hi,

I have set up Apache 2.2.11, php 5.2.10 and mysql 5.1.22 on a windows 2003 R2 server. Everything works fine except the actual Joomla 1.5 installation.

During the installation, i have gone through these steps,
1. Language
2. Pre-installation Check
3. License
4. Database
5. FTP Configuration

After step 5, when i clicked next, an error message appear as shown below: -
"Cookies do not appear to be enabled on your browser client. You will not be able to install the application with this feature disabled. Alternatively, there could also be a problem with the server's session.save_path. If this is the case, please consult your hosting provider if you don't know how to check or fix this yourself. "

When trying the installation again, it stoped after step 1 with the same error.

Could someone out there please help me out once more??

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Hi,

Replying to my own post above, I did fix the issue.

1. First of all, i enable cookies, in IE8, Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced
- Select "Override cookie automatic handling
- First party cookies - "Accept"
- Third party cookies - "Block"
- Select "Always allow session cookies"

2. The session.save_path shown in phpinfo is set to "c:/windows/tmp". Eventhough i tried changing this in the php.ini to some other location like "c:/windows/temp", etc, this did not change what is shown by phpinfo. But "c:/windows/tmp" is not present. What i did was create the folder tmp under c:/windows.

This fixes the problem for me.

Thank you all once again.

Joe
