I believe that you are using WAMP Server. If that is the case,

(a) Create a new folder under the folder www and unzip Joomla! into the new directory

(b) Start the WAMP Server

(c) Type localhost/new_folder_name for the installation process to start

Can you please attach a screen shot for others to understand? With the usages of words such as appatchi, appatshi and apatchi server, it is hard to understand what you are really using?

What software you are using for having the environment with Apache, MySQL and PHP? Examples of such software are WAMP Server and XAMPP Server.

What happens when you type localhost in your browser window?

Thanks for the clarification.

Could you try the following:

(a) Create a new directory under the directory \www (say joomla15)
(b) Download the latest Stable Full package of Joomla!
(c) Unzip the file downloaded in step (b) to the directory \www\joomla15
(d) Type localhost\www\joomla15\index.php in the browser window

Hopefully this should work.

Does your test program work as documented at http://www.appservnetwork.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=9?

If the test.php is not there, can you just create some HTML pages and see whether it is working?

If I'm not mistaken, Wamp is a package of Apache, PHP, MySQL. (Might I add much easier to use/manage than XAMPP in my opinion) Apache is the actual server you are using, correct? Did you not download it as a 'packaged' deal from either XAMPP, or Wamp?
I am confused by what you are asking.
