Need help with Joomla and WAMP setup
I installed WAMP and Joomla. It went fairly smoothly until I tried to launch Jooomla. If you could take a look at my settings below, I'd really appreciate it. Maybe you'll see what is wrong and have a suggestion for me. I've looked all over the internet for help and found nothing that helped.
Versions
Windows Vista, SP2 (32-bit)
Joomla 1.5.10
WAMPServer 2.01i
Apache version: 2.2.11
php version: 5.2.9-1
Firefox 3.5.7
Directories
c:\wamp\www contains joomla folder and index.php
c:\wamp\www\joomla contains 3,935 files and 730 folders (18.8 MB)
php admin: http://www.localhost.com/phpmyadmin/
When I launch Joomla...
In Firefox, whenever I go to localhost/joomla (http://www.localhost.com/joomla), I get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading".
Note: A user forum I stumbled upon said to check the Services. wampmysql was already running. apache was not running and I could not start the service. wampserver was able to start it though so now both services are running. But I still can't launch Joomla in wampserver.
If I've left out any important settings, please let me know. I thank you in advance for your time.

Did you download PHP 5.2.9 after installing WAMP? I ask this because Wamp 2.0i comes with PHP 5.3
After installation did you delete the Installation folder?

Yes. My php version is 5.2.9-1.
No, I did not delete any folder after the installation. What is the path to the folder I should delete?

In the root directory you should find the "installation" folder that should be deleted after install so you can access Joomla!djl0525 wrote:Yes. My php version is 5.2.9-1.

Thank you for your help. I have deleted the installation folder and I get the same result.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Need help with Joomla and WAMP setup
Here is what I would suggest. Delete wamp. Download and install xampp. Start the services and make sure they are running. Download the latest version of Joomla which is 1.5.15 (the version you are using is seriously out of date).

Re: Need help with Joomla and WAMP setup
It's working. I got a tip to stop and restart all services, then choose php 5.3.0 and it worked. My localhost is working!
Thanks to all,
