Install a second joomla to one hosting as subdomain

I want to install a second joomla site in the same hosting that contains already a joomla site. What I want to do is run a second joomla site out of a subdomain in a folder.
I tried manual install but it overwrote my original site. Right now I'm copying back everything to see if I can get it back to where it was

To install another Joomla on a subdomain, try this:
Upload all the Joomla files on the subdomain folder and then run the usual installation process. Please create a separate database for this installation using phpMyadmin and use this database for the new site.
now your new second Joomla site is ready..
