Hi,
I have been designing websites for a while but I have just started using joomla. I am having a lot of trouble installing a template (Rockettheme Kinetic). Can someone please help? If possible, can somebody help me install it? Thanks!!

First thing, have you tried the rocket theme forums? It's their template and as a club member they'll support it. Secondly, might I suggest you add a little more detail in the post regarding quite what problem you are observing.

when I try uploading the package file, it says "There was an error uploading this file to the server."

now that I have erased everything and am trying again, once I try installing the package file it just brings me back to the main page, and does not install it.

Maybe the problem will be solved in the new version of this theme

it is the problem of upload restrictions in which are lying with your server administrator

do one thing whenever you install the theme package install it from a remote url
like

www.somedomain.com/templatefile.zip

copy this url and paste in "install from url" in the joomla extensions window
this will directly install the theme.

you can use it for modules and plugins also
