I recently started work for a client who had a huge hosting mess for their Joomla sites. I was able to recover the database and Joomla files and moved everything to a proper host.

Everything works fine on the site except that none of the editors work.

I have ensured that they are enabled and that the configuration.php file refers to the TinyMCE editor.

If I create a new blank database, the editor works fine and I can create new articles. If I point the site back to the original database then the editors once again stop working. Maybe I'm crazy but this tells me that there is something in the database that is causing the problem.

Can anyone point me to what this might be?

And if not, then can anybody tell me how to extract the existing articles from the old database so that I can insert them into the new, empty database?
