Can't run the installation script

I had uploaded the Joomla 1.5 to my hosting account, and also updated my SQL database.

But when I typed in my domain name, with the hope to run the installation script, what I saw is the Getting Started page of the Hostgator. I understand that I should be directed to the installation page of the Joomla, where I will be asked to change language and licence, and others- a series of steps to run the installation script. But all I saw was the Getting Started page of the Hostgator.

I also typed in my domainname.com/joomla but was shown a 404 page.

I am at a loss now, don't know what to do. May anyone help me please?

What happens when you type your-domain-name/index.php?

Is there a file named index.htm or index.html in the directory where you have copied Joomla!?

When I typed domain-name.com/index.php, I was shown a 404-page not not found.

I can't seem to find any index.htm or index.html anywhere on the remote site on the ftp, or in the directory I copied into. I transferred the Joomla 1.6 to public_html.

Anyway, I attach 2 pages of the ftp here, will you be able to spot where I may have gone wrong?

I believe that you have uploaded the Joomla! files to the directory Joomla_1.6.0-Stable-Full_Package that is under the directory public_html.

Rename the directory Joomla_1.6.0-Stable-Full_Package to joomla.

After that type your-domain-name/joomla or your-domain-name/joomla.php in the browser's address bar.
