Warning: trim() expects parameter 1 to be string, array give

I am getting multiple errors on my site, and trying to diagnose/solve them.

These errors are as a result of trying to blow away and "re-install" the file structures using FTP. I had a "webmaster" do this and has now left it up to me to fix the mess that he created. Any help that you can provide is much appreciated.

PROBLEM #1: Here is the first error that I'm getting (you can see this on Finalkick.com today):


Warning: trim() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/httpd/vhosts/finalkick.com/htdocs/libraries/joomla/html/parameter.php on line 83


PROBLEM #2: About midway down, I am getting this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/httpd/vhosts/finalkick.com/htdocs/libraries/joomla/html/parameter.php:83) in /home/httpd/vhosts/finalkick.com/htdocs/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/ps_session.php on line 68

I am running 1.5.26 with Virtuemart.
