Hello everyone, I've been experimenting with Joomla 1.7.3 for some months but still have much to learn.

Can anyone tell me why my website's deprecated.php file (located in public_html/log/deprecated.php) would grow at a rate of about 500 Mb every 24 hours?

For the time being, I can log into my web server and delete it every day, but what steps can I take to stop this file growth permanently?

Also, is there a module, script or cron job instruction that can erase this file every 24 hours automatically?

Thanks in advance.

I would give up and start learning 2.5 as 1.7 is end of life and is no longer supported.

youmay also want to check your version of php as it sounds like you are on php 4 not 5
