I am trying to install my exisiting joomla 1.5.23 site into my WAMP server using akkeba kickstart 3.5.2. Everything is gone as planned (i think). First i was getting a 500 error so i read in the forum that checking rewrite module will work. however now if i reach the point to veiw my frontend of the site or backend of the site i get the following error

The requested URL /cgi-bin/php5-custom-ini.cgi/tymsin/index.php was not found on this server.

I am using
apache 2.2.22 rewrite module is checked

also read in another post that that i have comment out my rewritebase line in my .htaccess or rename it as htaccess.old. so did the renaming and then made SEFrewite in configuration.php to '0'. still getting a 404 error when veiwing the front end. The URL reads:

http://www.mysite.com/mysite/index.php when actually it should have d:/localhost/www/mysite

on the viewing the back end i get a lot of junk like

Notice: Undefined property: plgSystemOSOLCaptcha::$botScoutProtection in D:\wamp\www\tymsin\plugins\system\osolcaptcha.php on line 781

and then i get the login window but i am able to login using the new password

Version compatibility for all Akeeba Extensions and products can be found at: https://www.akeebabackup.com/compatibility.html

Make sure you are using the correct version of Akeeba and Kickstart for your installation.

The password and username will be the same on your new site as imported from the original site.

The database username and password are the only ones you can change in advance without editing the MySQL code.
