Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie

Hey Guys

I am under the process of transfering my host, and i found this error haunting me since few days. Tried everything but not getting a way out.

I have attached an image of the error, from my localhost...


I can neither open the index page or login into the admin panel.
Both places i get the same error.

Try disabling php error display in your local php.ini file. Try replacing your;
libraries/joomla/import.php
file with a know good copy.

I tried both, Didnt work

I cant event login the admin panel cos of this error, It doesnt generate session.

When you disabled error display did it get rid of the strict errors? Did you download a new copy of the import.php file from Joomla.org for the version you are using?

If i disable error display, the whole page will be blank..

and yes i tried copying a fresh file from same release.

I am doing a file by file hash check to see if any files are missing in the backup.. Lets see if it works then

I have seen a headers already sent error when people edit their configuration.php file in an editor that is not text only or does not save the file in the right format, but I don't see why the import file would have been edited. A blank line at the top of the config file can do it too but you see the configuration.php file in the error message.

Its Solved Finally

I found that few files were incompletely copied from the server during the backup.

Took a fresh copy and restored it , Worked like a charm :P

But i still dont get why it showed me that error... Damn
