I just recently upgraded to 1.5.23.

PHP Version: 5.3.13
Web Server: Apache
Web Server to PHP interface: cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.24 Stable [ senu takaa ama naiki ] 17-October-2011 18:00 GMT

I am receiving this error message at the top of each page.

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/content/e/a/r/earthplanet/html/plugins/system/securityimages.php on line 111

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/content/e/a/r/earthplanet/html/plugins/system/securityimages.php on line 134

I can't seem to find a solution. I would eventually like to upgrade to 2.3 but I would like to resolve this error first. TIA Tom

A temporary fix is to set "Error Reporting" to "Maximum" in the Global Configuration settings of your Joomla site. The problem is that your php.ini settings are incorrect for error reporting. There was a long thread in this group or the installation group on it.
