migrate frm joomla 1.5.25 to 2.5 without jupgrade or cpanel?
Hello all,
I've been hunting around looking for articles on how to do the above. while there are articles on how to do this with cpanel or jupgrade - which is no longer available - i'm struggling to find articles that explain how to do this without the two mentioned.
Please can someone point me in the right direction as I'm really struggling to find documentation on to do this.
kind regards
MG

Well, JUpgrade is available! You might be saying that you could not find it on JED, but it is available on redComponent's website.mind_grapes wrote:Hello all,

Thank you for your reply.
Thanks for this. ill look into it.
Also, can anyone tell me, what happens, if anything, to the front/back when you update Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5. if not don't worry about it.
Kind regards

If the upgrade process goes smoothly then there will be no or very minimal changes in your site.mind_grapes wrote:Thank you for your reply.

It is my understanding that when you use jUpgrade it will update your site in a new folder, making no changes to your live site. After testing and debugging your 2.5 site in its folder you need to replace your live site(in the root folder) with the 2.5 site in the new folder to finish the upgrade to 2.5.

Re: migrate frm joomla 1.5.25 to 2.5 without jupgrade or cpa
Hello All,
Thank you for the information, its appreciated. I installed jUpgrade, but when I tried to use it, I was presented with the following message:
"Mootools 1.2 not loaded. Please enable "System - Mootools Upgrade" plugin."
I went to the plugin manager screen, but unfortunately mootools was not there. So, as of now, i'm trying to work out how to get mootools installed on my current installation - joomla 1.5.25.
any pointers?
Kind regards
MG

You need Joomla 1.5.19 or higher to see mootools in your list.
http://docs.joomla.org/What_is_the_Moot ... _plugin%3F
This is what it looks like in the Plugins list; If you do not see it maybe someone un-installed it. If that is so you will need to upload the 1.5.0 - 1.5.26 patch to restore it.
