I tried to upgrade my site when 1.5.14 was first released and it did not go well.
The tinymce editor showed no save button for users logged in via the front end.
If I log in via the back end I could save, but I would lose the article and the word undefined would be written to the DB instead of the edited article.

It was a complete disaster and I lost over 170 articles.

I had to get our back up guy to roll me back to 1.5.11 where I am still at today.

I want to upgrade to 1.5.14 today but I am curious if the issues with the upgrade and tiny mce have been addressed or if there is a know fix.

That was an issue with Joomla 1.5.13, see here

If you had a problem with 1.5.14 it was probably a problem with corrupt or incomplete upgrade. If you have cPanel or your Host has a File Manager you can upload the tar file of the upgrade to the root of your site and then extract it there. This will over come FTP problems when uploading multiple files.
