Hi
I downloaded the 1.5.15 update to my PC and unzipped it.

Then installed the JUpdateMan product, but when I try to update my site from 1.5.14 to 1.5
15 using the update manager I get an error message:

Warning: ftp_chmod() [function.ftp-chmod]: Could not change perms on /htdocs/tmp/Joomla_1.5.14_to_1.5.15-Stable-Patch_Package.tar.gz: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux134/m/mostunusual.co.uk/user/htdocs/administrator/components/com_jupdateman/libraries/joomla/filesystem/helper.php on line 100

Warning: md5_file(/home/fhlinux134/m/mostunusual.co.uk/user/htdocs/tmp/Joomla_1.5.14_to_1.5.15-Stable-Patch_Package.tar.gz) [function.md5-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux134/m/mostunusual.co.uk/user/htdocs/administrator/components/com_jupdateman/step2.php on line 50

Error: MD5 checksum does not match! Delete and redownload file.

Does anyone know what I should do next?

Thanks
Helen

I do not use UM, did you try another download as the error said there was a check sum problem with the one you used?

I deleted the download file and re-uploaded it to my PC but I'm still getting the error message.

Can I just overwrite the existing folders/files using my ftp site? I've never done this before so please excuse my ignorance.

In the mean time...I have been trying to go through the instructions on the upgrading page (http://docs.joomla.org/Upgrading_1.5_fr ... 5x_version) which says I need to verfiy the download using MD5 hash, then it tells you how to find the hash (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... e_id=10786) but when I look at that list I cant see the code I want. My site was only created recently using v1.5.14 so I was looking for something saying Joomla 1.5.14 to 1.5.15 but there is nothing there that says that - have I got this totally wrong?

Here is the 14 to 15 patch
http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/11395/45628/Joomla_1.5.14_to_1.5.15-Stable-Patch_Package.zip
Here is the MD5 hash for this file;
993a1ba61334e9e70654746c19a5c3a7

You need to use a program like MD5Check to compare the hash of the file you download to its correct hash.

If you extract the zip to your Desktop you can upload the files and folders to the root of your site to upgrade. Check that all files are uploaded and that the FTP program is set to overwrite existing files.

Joomla! Update Manager - Step 2 say --- Error: MD5 checksum does not match! Delete and redownload file.

Any help will be appreciated
Other wise i will upload it manually using FTP.

But i thought that the Update Manger will be easier just push a button and its done :)

If you want to upgrade 1.5.14 to 1.5.15 :
Download Joomla 1.5.14 to 1.5.15 patch file
http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ackage.zip
Upload that .zip file to your Joomla site.
And yes you can just overwrite the existing folders/files using your ftp site.
I do not using any update manager if Iwant to upgrade.
