I did upgrade as decribed but then when I was going on my site and did look on the normal content I did get the following error messages

I am running on php4 server and it looks as the pathway.php is already written for php5
When I swaped back to the old pathway file from 1.5.14 everything worked fine.
Is my feeling true, regarding php5 ?
Why is it not mentioned in the upgrade notes ?
And does it matter or limit anything that I copied the old pathway file?
